The skills associated with this qualification are intended to apply to a wide range HVAC/R work, including assembling, installing, maintaining and repairing industrial, commercial and domestic air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment. This course will enable you to qualify as a Refrigeration Air-conditioning Tradesperson working across a variety of disciplines in the Construction, Engineering or Mining sector.

MEM18046 Fault find and repair electrical equipment/components up to 1000 volts a.c./1500 volts d.c.
MEM18083 Handle fluorocarbon refrigerants according to regulations
MEM18085 Install, service and repair domestic air conditioning and refrigeration appliances
MEM18086 Test, recover, evacuate and charge refrigeration systems
MEM18088 Maintain and repair commercial air conditioning systems and components
MEM18089 Maintain and repair central air handling systems
This course is funded through the Queensland Government’s User Choice program. A student co-contribution fee may be required. Please refer to student handbook.
Up to 4 years delivered over 4 stages.
The course will be delivered in the workplace by ASG trainers.
Minimum age of 15 years
We require that you complete a Language, Literacy & Numeracy assessment in order that we can support you, where required, in achieving a successful course outcome.

Assessment will take place at the end of each unit using the following assessment Methods:
On successful course completion Australian Skills Group will award the MEM31322 Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, or a Statement of Attainment for units achieved in partial completion.
