This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required for employment as an advanced engineering tradesperson within the metal, engineering, manufacturing & associated industries as a Maintenance/Mechanical Fitter and/or Welder/Fabricator. Very practical in approach it allows for the development of key skills over time through the completion of job tasks in a simulated environment.

ASG Entry Requirements 

Minimum age: 18 years 

Academic suitability: 

• Successful completion of Year 12 at school, including a pass in Mathematics

• English proficiency at a minimum of IELTS 5.5 or 

equivalent 

We also require you undertake a Language, Literacy & Numeracy assessment at Orientation so we can assist you with any individual learning needs.

You also need to supply your own PPE – steel cap 

boots, long pants & high-viz shirt.

Assessment

Assessment takes place at the end of each unit with a knowledge test and practical demonstration & throughout the course with a holistic project due at the end of each semester. 

Certification 

On successful completion Australian Skills Group will award you the AQF MEM50119 Diploma of Engineering –Advanced Trade (Mechanical & Fabrication), or a Statement of Attainment in recognition of units achieved in partial completion.
