DESCRIPTION

This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required for employment as an Engineering Tradesperson – Fabrication within the metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries or other industries where Engineering Tradespersons conduct Fabrication work.

JOB ROLES/EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES

The Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade specifies the competencies required for employment as an Engineering Tradesperson – Fabrication including metal fabrication, forging, founding, structural steel erection, electroplating, metal spinning, metal polishing, sheet metal work, welding and the use of related computer controlled equipment. 

Employment outcomes related to this qualification are found in a wide variety of manufacturing and engineering related sectors as well as Engineering Tradesperson – Fabrication roles in other industries.

PACKAGING RULES

To be awarded the MEM31922 Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking/welding), units of competency to the value of 96 points must be achieved, chosen as outlined below: 

– all core units of competency listed below (totalling 33 points)

– elective units of competency to a minimum value of 40 points from Group D as described below

– elective units of competency to a maximum value of 23 points from Group H to bring the total value to 96 points

To be awarded the MEM31922 Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Sheetmetal working), units of competency to the value of 96 points must be achieved, chosen as outlined below:

– all core units of competency listed below (totalling 33 points)

– elective units of competency to a minimum value of 40 points from Group E as described below

– elective units of competency to a maximum value of 23 points from Group H to bring the total value to 96 points
