The health and wellbeing of students and staff is our top priority.
We continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation. The state, federal and international response to the virus is informing our response to ensure we are providing a safe environment for all students and staff.
We are committed to keeping students and staff updated and informed. All students and staff are encouraged to follow the advice of government health authorities to help ensure the safety of everyone and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Our Health and Safety team are monitoring the changing situation daily to ensure we all have access to the latest information to make informed decisions.
If there is any action required from students, you will be advised immediately.
STUDENT IMPACT
As a result of our recent risk assessment; we have introduced the following safety measures at our facilities whilst the Coronavirus is present. Before entering our facilities Students will be required to:
Sign in at the front window
Undertake a temperature check and if student identify with cold or temperature will be made to self-isolate from attending our facilities for 14 days
Students will be required to wash their hands with soap at our wash stations before entering class after each break
All drinking fountains will be taken off-line until further notice and students are encouraged to bring a water bottle to class with them.
ASG will ensure all tables are disinfected prior to start of each class.
About the Virus
Effective immediately, anyone returning to Australia from overseas must isolate themselves for 14 days.
The Premier has announced when returning from interstate travel you are required to self-isolate for 14 days.
Australian Department of Health now advise all Australians who develop mild flu like symptoms to:
Isolate yourself from others and use a separate bathroom if available.
Put on a surgical mask and if you don’t have one, practise good sneeze/cough hygiene.
Practise good hand hygiene.
Call a doctor or hospital and tell them your situation.
Australian Skills Group has a duty of care to all staff and students to provide a safe and healthy education environment.

Take steps to stop the spread
You are encouraged to take steps to reduce the risk of getting sick or spreading infections to other people:
Cover coughs and sneezes with a clean tissue or elbow.
Practise good hygiene measures (wash hands regularly, particularly after going to the toilet, blowing your nose or handling used tissues).
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, or handling food, until you have washed your hands.
